Background
SoCha has an expanding profile of donor-funded monitoring, evaluation, and learning projects across Asia and seeks to staff a qualified Grants Officer to support these projects in the near term.
The Grants Officer will help issue, monitor, and report on grants while also supporting grantee capacity building to ensure project goals are achieved.
Scope of Work
The Grants Officer will work with the donor and grantees to:
- Prepare and monitor grant announcements on relevant platforms.
- Conduct preliminary review of grant applications.
- Conduct due diligence and background checks on potential grantees as needed.
- Prepare donor approval requests for grants.
- Review reporting documentation submitted by grantees.
- Track grant activities against performance indicators to ensure successful management of grants based on donor requirements.
- Assist in identifying grantee capacity building opportunities and supporting efforts to provide technical assistance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in international development, social science, or a related field.
- More than five (5+) years of experience in grant management, preferably on donor-funded projects.
- Prior experience working on monitoring and evaluation and/or learning and adaptive management projects preferred.
- Experience supporting local organizations on effective grant management.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Fluency in written and spoken English required. Local SE Asian languages beneficial
Location
Location to be determined in South or Southeast Asia.
Period of Performance
Full time position for the project duration, subject to availability of funding, following an initial probation period.
